Aquilegia 'Nora Barlow'
Granny's bonnet / columbine
A stunning aquilegia with double rose pink, pale-tipped flowers that appear in masses in spring and early summer. Flowers are held tall and straight above the rosette of leaves - up to 70cm high. It's leaves are an attractive shape, soft blue-green in colour, and they catch and hold onto water drops. Aquilegia are a great plant to add to your garden as they usually flower in the brief gap between spring bulbs and showy summer perennials.
It prefers a position in full sun or part shade, in moist but well-drained soil. Mature clumps can be dug and divided every 3 - 5 years. Aquilegia tend to self-seed quite readily around the garden - we suggest dead heading old flower spikes before they start to dry if you want to avoid a garden full of seedlings.
